What are mangroves?

Mangroves are tropical trees that grow in coastal saltwater zones in tropical and subtropical latitudes.

They make our ecosystem more resilient and they help protect the earth’s natural resources, which in turn improves human sustenance and planetary health.

Mangroves serve as habitats for thousands of species. They protect various terrestrial, estuarine, and marine species – from those adorable mudskippers to the colourful birds flying in the air.

They protect the earth from global warming by pulling massive amounts of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and storing them in their soils — up to four times as much carbon as other tropical forests.

Location Map

Guests who need transportation from Kota Kinabalu to JSK Rampayan Jetty, Kota Belud must purchase our Transportation Package in advance from our booking page. The pick-up point is Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal in Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival, guests can approach the JSK Counter for assistance.
If you did not purchase the transportation package, you will need to drive yourself to the JSK Rampayan Jetty. The drive will take a minimum of one and a half hours, depending on the traffic conditions, it is recommended to plan your journey ahead.
Due to weather concerns, The boat departure from JSK Rampayan Jetty will strictly adhere to the scheduled times.
